Getting to Fort Smith. The community of Fort Smith in the Northwest Territories, Canada, is served by a local airline company called Northwestern Air Lease. They operate scheduled service from Edmonton, Alberta 5 days a week. Some adventurous customers travel by road, which is approximately a 14 hour drive from Edmonton.

Transportation from Fort Smith to North Star Resort is via float aircraft including Cessna 185 (3 Passengers), Cessna 206 (3 to 4 Passengers), Beaver (4 to 5 Passengers) and Single Otter (8 Passengers).

These aircraft have strict weight restrictions (available on request), if these weight restrictions can not be met, additional or larger aircraft may have to be chartered.

In the event of an emergency, the cost of air ambulance service is the responsibility of the person being evacuated.
